Job Description

This onsite CAD Designer role at Collier Foundation Systems, Inc. supports the Superior Walls team by delivering submittal, contract, and production drawings for insulated precast panels used in residential construction.

Responsibilities

  • Create preliminary submittal drawings derived from provided specifications, details, and blueprints
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure accurate and timely submittals
  • Interpret product specifications and translate them into project drawings while preserving the client design intent
  • Process redlines and change orders promptly, recording all amendments accurately
  • Produce final contract drawings reflecting prior changes and specifications for customer approval
  • Develop production drawings from the finalized designs to guide manufacturing and production
  • Share project information with internal teams (sales, manufacturing, construction) and external stakeholders (architects, engineers, code officials, customers) as needed
  • Contribute to project cost estimates
  • Assist with general office phone communications
  • Respond to inquiries with technical product specifications
  • Support CAD work on additional product lines as requested

Requirements

  • Strong ability to visualize concepts and convert them into workable designs
  • Proficiency in interpreting architectural and structural blueprints and project details into CAD drawings, including scaling
  • Solid math skills with comfort using fractional measurements
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions and stay organized
  • Effective prioritization and multitasking across multiple projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems with creative solutions
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaborative team player who can work independently or across cross-functional teams
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and QuickBooks
  • Associate of Science/Arts degree in Architectural Drafting
  • Minimum of two years of Architectural CAD experience
  • Pre-employment drug screening required
