Job Description
Rivian Creative Studio is seeking a Lead Video Editor & Motion Designer to shape the brand’s storytelling in Irvine, California, on site. This role blends editorial finesse with motion graphics and light animation to produce Rivian content across campaigns, product launches, and marketing initiatives. Expect a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where narrative craft and technical skill come together to tell Rivian’s story through video.
Responsibilities
- Craft engaging narratives from raw footage that line up with marketing strategies, product announcements, and major campaigns; expertly assemble audio, choose suitable music, and apply sound effects to elevate storytelling.
- Conceptualize, design, and animate motion graphics, including typography, title cards, lower thirds, logo animations, and UI elements, to extend the Rivian brand system.
- Translate campaign goals into video and motion deliverables that support business objectives; collaborate with designers and creative directors to evolve static ideas into scalable motion toolkits and templates.
- Partner with Organic Social and Performance Marketing teams to ensure all motion and video assets adhere to briefs, maintain visual consistency, and follow brand guidelines.
- Assist lead editors by prepping projects (proxy creation, assembling selects sequences) and supporting larger video deliverables and versioning.
- Organize footage and manage Rivian’s digital media library with clear naming conventions, folder structures, and asset tracking; stay attuned to cultural trends for short-form, social-first motion concepts.
Requirements
- 4+ years of video editing experience.
- 2+ years of experience creating brand content.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
- Portfolio that demonstrates storytelling across multiple channels, with a reel highlighting motion graphics and brand-oriented animation.
- Proven expertise in motion graphics and animation, including typography-driven design, logo/lockup animation, and basic UI/UX motion.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
- Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite is required.
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for internal creative reviews.
- Excellent attention to detail, strategic thinking, and a creative instinct for storytelling in both editing and motion.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, adapt to shifting directions, and welcome feedback.
