Job Description
Join the University of Houston in Houston, on site, as a Communications Coordinator for the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership. This role offers a salary range of USD 49,400 - 56,200 per year and the chance to help shape brand-aligned print and digital materials while maintaining the College website. You will collaborate across teams to produce compelling visuals and content that support marketing, communications, and events. Responsibilities
- Support the College's communications and marketing efforts by creating visually engaging, brand-aligned print and digital materials.
- Maintain and update College website content to deliver a consistent, user-focused experience across platforms.
- Design original print and digital materials that support communications, marketing, and promotional initiatives.
- Produce visual content for brochures, flyers, presentations, signage, social media, websites, reports, advertisements, and event materials.
- Ensure all materials adhere to University and College brand standards, visual identity guidelines, and accessibility considerations.
- Prepare files for print, digital publication, and vendor production as needed.
- Maintain design templates and ensure visual consistency across communications platforms.
- Update and maintain College websites using the University's content management system.
- Regularly review website content for accuracy, usability, accessibility, and visual coherence.
- Create and optimize web graphics, page layouts, and digital assets for online platforms.
- Collaborate with communications team members and campus partners to organize and publish timely website updates.
- Assist in improving the overall user experience and organization of College web content.
- Work with communications colleagues, faculty and staff to develop visual concepts and creative solutions for projects and campaigns.
- Support marketing and communications initiatives through audience-focused visual storytelling.
- Assist with selecting, editing, and incorporating photography and graphics into materials.
- Coordinate with vendors and campus partners for design production and project support as needed.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain organized design files, templates, and digital assets.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with faculty, staff, vendors, and partners.
- Bring forward creative ideas that support College priorities and audience engagement.
- Represent the College professionally in interactions with campus and community partners.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, branding, and visual communication principles.
- Experience designing for both print and digital platforms.
- Familiarity with website content management systems and web content updates required.
- Experience with Canva and digital content creation platforms preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality design standards.
- Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
- Technologies used include Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and a Content Management System (CMS).
